hot-tubs or jacuzzis

relax with the flo!

A hot tub, sometimes referred to as a Jacuzzi, is becoming an increasingly popular feature of higher-end holiday rentals and homes in Pembrokeshire.

Although hot tubs are typically self-contained, closed-loop systems, with water circulating continuously through pipes, a pump, filter, heater, and back to the tub jets. . .  they should still be installed by a qualified plumbing professional.

Plus:  Because hot tubs are designed for continuous water circulation, it makes maintenance all the more important to ensure hygiene.

[ HOT TUB PLUMBING GUIDE: ]

PVC or ABS pipework connects various components, forming a closed loop for water flow.

The pump  circulates water through the system, and the filter.

A replaceable filter  removes debris and particulates from the water, ensuring it remains clean and clear.

The heater  maintains the optimum water temperature.

High-power jets  then deliver the heated, filtered, water back into the tub. . .  creating the spa experience.

MAINTENANCE CONSIDERATIONS:

Always follow the manufacturer's published advice and hygiene instructions.

Filling:  You can fill, or top up, the hot tub with a garden hose, typically through the filter housing.

Draining:  Most hot tubs have a drain valve at the bottom, or uses a submersible pump to drain the water.

Flushing:  Regular flushing and cleaning of the pipes and plumbing is essential to prevent clogs, ensure proper water circulation and prevent bacteriological build-up.

Water chemistry:  Maintaining the correct water chemistry is crucial for a healthy and enjoyable hot tub experience.

Drainage:  When draining, ensure water flows to a sewer drain or allows it to infiltrate quickly into the ground, never onto patios, paved areas or neighbouring properties.
